Get ready
- Place the bell beside one foot. Bend hips and knees, grip with that side hand and stand tall. Keep the arm long, bell clear of your leg and shoulders level.
- Check the whole walking path and turning area; remove obstacles and keep the floor dry and nonslip.
How to do it
- Walk at a steady pace with short, quiet steps. Keep your trunk upright and avoid letting the bell swing or hit your leg.
- Slow down before turning and turn with several small steps, not a sudden pivot. Continue breathing; stop walking before lowering the bell.
Finish the movement
- Stand still, bend hips and knees and place the bell beside your foot. Reset your stance and grip before repeating with the other hand.
Make it easier
- Shorten the walking interval or use a stationary suitcase hold.
Make it harder
- Walk more slowly while maintaining level shoulders and a quiet bell; do not add speed.
Common mistakes
- Leaning sideways, shrugging the loaded shoulder, holding the breath or resting the bell against the thigh.
When to stop or adjust
- End the set if grip slips, control or balance is lost, or pain, numbness or dizziness appears. Set the bell down under control before resting.
